Mall Christmas Lights 2021
Nicosia Mall

Meanwhile, at Nicosia, they also had some baubles, but not on the same scale.

Rooftop Decorations

This looks like it is supposed to be a perfume bottle.
Cinderella

Pantomime doesn't appear to be a big thing in Cyprus, so I was surprised to see this shape used as a decoration. Mind you, it is no more surprising than a perfume bottle.
I said to some passing Cypriots that I thought it was an odd choice.
They replied "Oh no it isn't."
I couldn't find the Christmas tree either, so asked where it was.
It turned out it was behind me.*
Sure Enough...

You can actually walk through the Christmas Tree here, which is a nice photo opportunity for small kiddies. I think I prefer the Paphos one though.
Twinkle Twinkle

I can't help thinking that the decorations in the Nicosia Mall would look better at night. The frosted glass windows let in too much light during the day. Still, it is nice to have something cheerful to lift our spirits from the COVID-related gloom that surrounds us at the moment.
The main Paphos Switch On Ceremony will be at 6PM tonight - 10th December - at Kennedy Square. I shall wonder down in a couple of days time to take some pictures. It will be less crowded then and easier to remain socially distant.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
