Magic Crystals

Yesterday my wife said she wanted to go out crystal hunting, so we drove into the forest for a scavenge, and followed it with a quick dip in the ocean near Polis. Playing with one of the crystals, I thought I would leave a gift for a random beach-comber, but got a surprise of my own...

Autumnal Sunset

After a decent crystal hunt we are usually hot and sweaty and covered in dust. So a swim is fairly essential. The water is still quite warm, which isn't bad considering it is mid October!

Crowded Beach

We weren't alone. A couple were walking their dogs and collecting interesting pebbles off the beach.

A Little Gift

I decided I would leave a little gift for the beachcombers, so I placed one of the gypsum crystals I had found in the sand, and put a ring of pebbles around it, to make it look suitably mysterious. You can just see it in the middle bottom of this photograph.

Let There Be Light

What I hadn't anticipated, was the effect the diminishing sun's rays would have on the crystal. It lit up like it was charged with electricity.
