Kinousa Hills
Very Distant Lysos
The main Limni Mine is to the right of this.
Slag Heaps
I wonder what this landscape looked like before it was mined? When you drive through the area now, it is really beautiful. So clearly there is scope to have mines here without permanently damaging the environment. And if you visit some of the old asbestos mines in the Troodos, you will see that the authorities are making sure that they are returned to nature. The flipside to this however, is when you read about the expansion plans for the quarry at Androlikou, and how (according to the article I read in the news) they haven't been fulfilling their obligations to sustain the countryside.
Gone Hunting
You can find nice crystals in slopes like this. Do take care if you go exploring though, as it can get very muddy.
Take The Tour
The drone takes some very nice panoramic pictures that really let you see the beauty of the hills. Have a look at them, preferably in full-screen mode. You won't be disappointed.
Watch The Film
And of course, there is a film to go with this, courtesy of our drone.
