Old Olive

The first thing to note is an old Olive Tree. It is nothing compared to some of the ones we have seen on our travels, but it does seem to stand out.

Old Wall?

There are signs of an old wall here, along with recently cleared branches. In this instance I think the workers can be forgiven for not taking the green waste away with them.

Upstream

This is the view upstream. It is VERY overgrown here, and the flowers are all in bloom. This means that there are lots of bees and wasps around, so tread carefully. Also, given that there is running water nearby, you should also be on the lookout for snakes.

Old Foundations

Finally, here, we find significant signs of human development. There is an ancient wall here, built into the side of the hill. To the right you can see what looks like the wall of a building too. If this was an old watermill, it doesn't look that similar to the typical ones you see dotted around Cyprus. However, because of the nature of the river itself, perhaps the mills along it were of a different design? One thing is for certain though, these rocks are not natural.

Across The River

This was the end of the track. Whoever was clearing it, has either finished in a rather odd location, or they are still in the process of making it. I shall have to return in a few months to see if there have been any further developments.
