The path soon leaves the villas behind, and brings you to a small chapel.

It may be small but it has a grand title: The Throne Of The Virgin Mary. This used to be a place where people left pebbles with messages on, for departed loved ones. That custom seems to have stopped though. I know they got cleared away at least once, because a few years ago I found a pile of decorated stones nearby, amongst some garden waste.

After the chapel the path splits in two. They join up again in a while, but the left hand route is more scenic, so that is where we shall go.

This part of the walk is on a very good track. You can get a wheelchair or bicycle along here easily. Be warned though, that a lot of the route isn't this good yet, as you shall see.

Kissonerga Coast Path In 2025

The Kissonerga Coast Path first opened a couple of years ago. I visited it at the time, but it has since been extended at either end. So I recently returned for another look. It is the perfect place for a walk after a meal at one of the nearby taverns, with spectacular views and a nice bar at the end. So let's check it out.
