View From The Other Side

This was as far as we went this time. There would be lots of mud ahead and we were really here to look at the overflow. So I took one more photo before turning round.

And there is the dam itself, with a picnic spot to it's right.

In the distance, you can see a number of cars. The spot was popular with photographers. Several turned up with their tripods while my wife and I were wandering around.

To see the new waterfall at it's best, we really need to get down there somehow. Luckily, we knew the way, so we returned to the small church we passed on the way to the dam, and cut back on a lower route.

Argaka Dam

The subject of litter often crops up in discussions on the Paphos Life forum. Things are improving, but there is definitely a long way to go. So it is with great pleasure that we are able to report that on a recent visit to Argaka Dam, we witnessed first hand how school children from the ISOP are helping to keep the area tidy.

While we were there, we couldn't help but notice the abandoned village of Makounta on the other side of the valley. We were also curious where the nature trail went once it passed the reservoir.
