The view from here was staggering. It looks like there is a track running along the other side of the valley. That would make for an intersting walk too.

A Convenient Bridge
The road eventually comes to this bridge over a seasonal river. Hard to believe that such a small waterway could carve such a dent in the surrounding hills.
Interesting
A track runs next to the river, up into the valley. I was tempted to follow it but experience has taught me to treat such routes with a great deal of respect in rainier periods. If you aren't careful you can end up stuck in some very sticky mud. It is no fun digging yourself out of it either.
Walk This Way
A better route might be to walk directly up the riverbed itself. When I took these shots a few days ago it was dried up. Since then we have had a fair amount of rain, so it might be wise to leave it a few weeks before trying that. I also want to visit Petratis Gorge, so don't think you have heard the last of my thoughts on this area. The best is yet to come...

MapAndrolikou Countryside
Androlikou is an old Turkish Cypriot Village in the Akamas, South West of Polis. It was largely abandoned after the invasion, though there are signs it is springing into life again. There is a quarry directly below it, which dominates the surroundings, but if you look past that you will see an amazing variety of countryside.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
