Towards The Blue Lagoon
You can't see the crap from the road, so perhaps the people who dump rubbish there thought that nobody would notice? I crossed over to the other side of the road, to look at something a bit less depressing. The views are equally impressive on this side, and with no rubbish.
Towards The Gorge?
Petratis Gorge is in this direction, but closer to Latchi.
Where Would The Quarry Go?
Now, at the start of this article I mentioned the quarry, and the desire to expand it. This begs the question, where would they expand it to? Would anybody care if they dug up this valley? What about the other side of the road, where all the rubbish was dumped? It is clear that some people don't care about that.
Another Vantage Point
This was the next place I stopped.
I climbed over the barrier to take this shot. I was curious to see how to get to the area I had seen from above.

MapAndrolikou Countryside
Androlikou is an old Turkish Cypriot Village in the Akamas, South West of Polis. It was largely abandoned after the invasion, though there are signs it is springing into life again. There is a quarry directly below it, which dominates the surroundings, but if you look past that you will see an amazing variety of countryside.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
