A Year In Paphos
Gialia Monastery

This place was another good find, near Pomos. In fact, it will make its way into our third road trip once we get round to finishing it. Another great place to visit if you are tired of the heat. Plus you will likely have the place to yourself so there is no need to worry about social distancing.Read The Blog
Paphos In Autumn

Foinikas is probably our favourite abandoned village to visit. It is the gift that keeps on giving. I have written numerous blogs about it, and when I wrote this Autumn one I think it was because I wanted to include more pictures of the place without getting too repetitive. Christmas Lights

Unlike the UK, Cyprus doesn't start celebrating Christmas in October. They had the lights switch on in the first week of December. This means that by Christmas Day you are not heartily sick of the whole affair, which makes a welcome change.

Fun In Theletra

Theletra is another abandoned village. However, this time, it was the fear of landslides that sent the villagers packing. It is right on our doorstep, and like a lot of local attractions, I hadn't bothered exploring it properly for a few years. Last December I rectified that, and dove into the ruins on the slope. I couldn't believe how much there was to see, and the blog had to be split in two.Read The Blog

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
