The View To The Coast

I wonder what this area was used for? There are no signs of any walls.

I wonder what they found here...

Looking Back To The Mall

Just below The Mall, in the top right, you can see the end of the new walkway. We have now looped round, as I suspected we would. The path you can see progresses back to the carpark. The remaining shots of ruins lie to the right of where I am standing to take this shot.

Fresh Excavations

As stated before, Fabrica Hill is an Archaeological work in progress. These diggings looked fairly recent.

So What Will They See?

Here's the rub though. Fabrica Hill does indeed have lots of interesting things to see, and it is well worth a stroll around. But what will the walkers be able to see from the walkway? It doesn't seem high enough to provide a view of the ruins we saw in the first picture, and below the walkway itself, there are no ruins. So what will the attraction be? Will it's purpose be just to provide a safe means of crossing the busy road? Or perhaps, the idea is to deposit people at the far end of the hill, so that the then walk through the ruins and caves?

Time will tell...

Beyond Fabrica Hill

A few weeks ago we blogged about Fabrica Hill. We went to find out about the new walkway, and to see what was on the hill. The blog was very popular, but left people chomping at the bit for more. Why didn't you feature the amphitheatre? Where will the walkway end? Why are there never any hedgehogs in your blogs? Most of these questions were asked. So the other day, we went back to find the answers. Not only that, but we also found that most elusive of creatures, an artist's impression of what the walkway will look like when it is complete. So read on to find out...

Paphos Archaeological Park

When relatives visited us a few weeks ago, we took them to some of the local tourist must-see sites. A definite highpoint was the visit to the Archaeological Park. We were especially lucky because it was spring time and all the wild flowers were in bloom...

Paphos Caving

A few months ago we read a report in the papers about an interesting cave that lurked within Paphos itself, behind an old church. After a bit of investigation I found it, and did a bit of spelunking.
