Arnies Nature Trail
Long Route
Had you taken the long route you would have followed the path you can see here which runs from right to left. At about the centre of the image, another path branches off and heads straight towards us up the hill. I think we were right to avoid it this time as it looks very overgrown down there.
Dog Prints
This puzzled me. At one point they had obviously laid some more concrete on the track. It looks like about 100 dogs walked over it afterwards, while the concrete was still wet. What's even more puzzling though, is that there are no human footprints or tyre tracks.
Paphos Forest
The ascent back up the hill is more gentle than the descent. There are now some lovely views of Paphos Forest and the Kannaviou Reservoir.
Artichokes!
The artichoke is actually the bud of a thistle. The leaves cover a fuzzy centre called the "choke", which sits on top of a meaty core, called the heart.
The recipe site I just copied that from recommends steaming them.
Spring Blooms
We are now back in "Garden" territory and it shows. Beautiful.
