The Anerades Nature Trail
The Trek Begins!
At this point the trail gets more interesting. We leave the road here, and head to the left.
This scene could have been lifted straight from countless UK woodlands.
Natural Tunnels
I love the way the bamboo makes these natural green tunnels. Bamboo can also indicate snakes though, so do watch where you are walking.
Well Maintained Path
Most of the trail is very easy on the feet. Do bear in mind though that there were landslides during the winter rain, and the route was closed for repairs. So treat the route with respect. You will be walking up the side of a gorge that can get a bit steep at times.
Gorge Stream
And here is the cause of the gorge. This stream was babbling away happily. I imagine in February this will have been a raging torrent. Definitely worth a trip back once the rains have returned in earnest.

It is a bit challenging but is thankfully soon replaced by the smell of the orange orchards which make up most of the surrounding farmland. When we we visiting the area a few days ago, we spotted a ramblers' sign pointing to the spring, so naturally we stopped to investigate...A short walk through the countryside around Kallepia
Now that we are getting the occasional dry day again we thought it time we started our selection of blogs on walks in and around the countryside of Paphos. For our first excursion we are visiting the village of Kallepia, situated near the Ezousa Valley and Minthis Hills Golf Course. What Are These Mystery Tags?
I am taking a break from my normal blogs to pose a question. On my travels throughout Cyprus, while I have been photographing interesting locations for blogs, I have often stumbled across some mysterious tags. They consist of a date, and an initial or two. I have photographed them as I explored, but have never included the photos in a blog because it doesn't really fit in with the blog's theme. However, I have now amassed sufficient tag pictures for them to warrant a blog in their own right. And my question to you is simple; why are they there?Good Pages To Visit
