After I took this picture I filmed the scene with my new camcorder. There is something very satisfying about watching logs and vegetable matter cascade over these overflows. There was an added bonus in this scene too, because if you look carefully on the film you can see a football go careering over the lip.

Views From Above

There is more to Kouris Reservoir than the dam though. Once we had finished recording the waterfalls, we continued down the reservoir, to view it in all its majesty. The following shots were taken by the abandoned ranch we blogged about previously. It offers excellent views of the entire lake.

It's Full!

If you haven't seen our previous blog on Kouris Reservoir, you won't really appreciate just how impressive this scene is. Last year the reservoir was close to overflowing, but there was still a white belt around the water's edge. Now it is 100% full.

The other day we saw an article about a mysterious church that had appeared in the Kouris Reservoir because of the low water level. When we got there it turned out to be a case of bad journalism. However, as we were in the area, we decided to revisit the abandoned Rancho Appaloosa, to see how much it had changed since we first found the place, in 2016.
