Return To Lara Bay
Seaweed

There was a little bit of seaweed on the shore, but you get this on natural beaches. It's a good sign to, as it indicates that the waters are clean.

Well-Behaved Visitors

The first time we visited Lara Bay, as well as the turtles, we also saw examples of human stupidity. Somebody was carrying a small dog, and another person was waggling a parasol about. This time, I am pleased to report that we didn't see a single irresponsible human visitor, and we have the photos to prove it.

Route To Carpark Number 1

Had you stopped at the first carpark, as most people seem to do, you would descend onto the beach by this path. Be warned, that in summer, the sand will get very hot indeed. If you set out barefoot and reached here your feet would probably be burnt by now. So at the very least don some flipflops or those beach shoes they sell in all the kiosks.
Towards The Hidden Cove

There is a much smaller cove towards those rocks over there. It seemed to be popular with boats, more than anything. I imagine it is their way of getting to the bay without falling foul of the no boats rule. You can also reach the beach on foot, if you turn left at the first carpark and follow the coast around.

Lara Bay
Lara Bay is a bit of an enigma. If you approach from the direction of Paphos and Coral Bay, on the main road, you may well end at the beach by Lara Bay Restaurant. Confusingly, this is not Lara Bay. So go back to the main track, and continue into the Akamas for a little while longer. The turtles await...Good Pages To Visit

We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
