I mentioned previously that Evi prefers using wood to canvas to paint her creations. She prefers the texture and the smell, and I can certainly see her point.

Pre-Internet Entertainment

Evi explained to me that this was the sort of thing the children played with before TV and cinema came to Cyprus. Every weekend they would go to the coffee shop and the children would make shadow films and stories with characters like this.

Pinocchio

Evi's husband makes the Pinocchios. He's a carpenter, which also explains where she gets her wood from.
