In our final film of 2019, we thought we would take a drive around the coastline of Paphos to see how it had weathered the recent storms. As you can see, once the sun starts shining again, Paphos looks gorgeous.

The Pomos Coast

After the coldest night of this year’s winter, Saturday’s temperatures will be closer to the seasonal average with a further rise on Sunday.

Cyprus accused of blocking new EU sanctions against Russia amid Turkey spat

Cyprus is blocking new European Union sanctions against several officials from Russia-annexed Crimea in a bid to secure EU backing for tougher action against Turkey in a separate row over drilling for hydrocarbons, three diplomatic sources said.

Nicosia denied linking the two issues and said it needed time to review the proposed measures against the Crimean officials.

Supreme court hears British man’s appeal in lengthy property dispute (Updated)

Conor O’Dwyer, a British man who has been involved in a lengthy and exhausting court battle over a property he bought in the Famagusta district in 2005, presented his appeal to the supreme court in Nicosia on Friday morning.

O’Dwyer appealed the case filed by developer company Christoforos Karayiannas and Son Ltd, who accused him of breach of contract and of defamation.

Bad tenants beware, House passes tougher eviction law

The amendment to the rent control law making it easier to evict bad tenants was passed by the House plenum on Friday.

It was passed with 31 votes in favour, 15 against and two abstentions.

The bill reduces the eviction process for tenants refusing to pay rent, to six months.
