Polemi Lockdown Part 2
Blossom

I could have filled several more pages with pictures of tulips, but you get the idea.

Polemi Yellow

I took this because I liked the colour contrasts. It really shows off the glorious yellows you can get. In the day before lockdown started, I walked to one of my favourite spots, above Foinikas. I was hoping Foinikas would be in bloom, as for a brief period each spring, it turns a glorious yellow. However, I was too soon. Hopefully, when the lockdown is over, I will be able to return and the flowers will still be on display. If they aren't though, they will be back next year.
SODAP

The SODAP Winery, founded in 1947. This is from their website:
In 1947, a team of forward looking Vine Growers decided to organize their grapes production, relieving themselves from the insecurities of the troubled times on the Island, and created the great wine Co-operative, SODAP, that united about 10,000 families, from 144 vine growing villages.
From the beginning SODAP was supported by the whole Vine Growing Community, as it has played the role of the Stabilizing factor in the Wine Sector. SODAP owns and operates its KAMANTERENA Winery situated right in the middle of the main vine producing areas of Cyprus Mountains, between the villages of Stroumbi and Polemi.
Polemi Concentration Camp

Next to the winery, we have this reminder of sadder past times. For more information on this, see the link below.
Booming Burger Bar

We are now heading back up the road to Polemi. Ahead, you can see a new cafe that has sprung up recently. It started out as a van, but is gradually getting more established.
