Paphos Desalination Plant
Lowering The Roof
The official announcements state that it is to be opened in August, though another article had this to say on the matter:
He also added that there should be no complacency regarding the desalination plant in Kouklia, which is scheduled to operate on August 15, as, as he said, components are expected from China, "so the delay is expected."
I just hope they aren't using UPS to handle the shipping.
Back In 2017
Here's another shot from 2017 so you can see how it has changed.
On Site Security
When we had packed our drone away and were about to set off back to the B6, we were approached by a person in a car. They asked us if the road they were on went to the Desalination Plant. I wasn't sure, but said I thought the main entrance was via Mandria. He then drove back the way he came. I couldn't help but think that he was actually part of Site Security though, and was checking us out. This is understandable, given the old building burnt down.
Ready In August?
So hopefully the parts will arrive from China and the project will be completed by August 15th. Paphos certainly needs the water. We also need more desalination units. The days of us relying on the reservoirs for all our water needs are over.
