Chrysochou Gorge
Dedication!

Well, that's impressive! There is a map at the end of this blog, and you will be able to see how remote it is. However, the person who goes around checking water features has been here this year, and left their mark.
Further Upstream

I was ill-equipped for an extended yomp, so didn't do too much exploring. However, I did make it to this turning, so I could see what was around the other side.
More Of The Same

I shall have to return with more appropriate footwear, and long trousers to help with the brambles. It would be interesting to see how far this goes...
Watch Out For Snakes

Not today though, so I turned round and headed back towards the car.

Areas like this are very popular for adders. There is one particular stream in the Akamas where I always find at least one. I tend to jump rather high in the air when I stumble across them, and land rather painfully. It does however tend to frighten them off before I have a chance to step on them.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
