Kissonerga Coastal Promenade

Published 12th of October, 2025

Boardwalks, or Promenades, have become a big feature of the Paphos Coastline over recent years. In this article we visit Vardas Beach in Kissonerga, to see if any progress has been made in the completion of the Kissonerga walkway. The October sun made for a very photogenic landscape, so come and see what we found.

Vardas Restaurant

Today's adventure begins at the car park above Vardas Restaurant. If you are driving from Paphos to Coral Bay, you get here by looking for a left turn after Sandy Bay, and before the traffic lights at the top of the Kissonerga hill. It is signposted and leads here. Unless you are eating in the restaurant, do not park in the lower area. Park at the top. The path to the beach is above it anyway.

Path To The Beach

As paths to beaches go, it is pretty swanky.

Boss Cat

There was a big cat here too, trying to do an impression of a lynx. The tail ruins it though.

Posing Palms

I like playing Escape Room puzzles on my phone. Too much, obviously, as the first thing I thought when I looked at this picture was "Ah the combination is probably 3425".

In fact, it was 2354. I had failed to take into account the heights of the four groups of trees.

The Restaurant

Um, anyway. The path leads down to the restaurant.
