Agia Marina Reservoir
A Local Dam for Local People
Apparently, this dam was built by local people using rocks from the area. They did a good job.
Back To Reality
That's the staircase we climbed down to get here.
Upstream
Upstream, the reservoir dwindles back to a river.Confusingly, it is called Xeros, like the river the feeds the Asprokremmos.
On the banks here, you can see a fir tree that has decided to grow horizontally rather than vertically.
Forwards to Adventure...
And that is Agia Marina dam. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area, especially if it is full.
If you are in a 4x4, you can continue into the forest and have lots of fun exploring. You shall see what we got up to in another blog...
