Paphos Seafront And Harbour In May
Fish Boy!
The Little Fisherman was still at his post. Funnily enough, I took my favourite picture of him this time last year, during the Kataklysmos Festival. It was a full moon and there was a fair amount of cloud in the sky. But a break in the cloud meant that the moonlight illumated the statue, though you had to get just the right angle to see the effect properly. The reason I remember it was because a Stall Truck was parked just where I wanted to stand, so I had to hang off the side of the Sea Front in order to get the picture.

Oh I also did a Walkie Talkie Film of my trip today, which has already been published on Youtube.
Once we have walked past Fish Boy, the next point of interest is The Wooden Pub. This is a popular place for people - watching and the consumption of Cheesy Puffs. I do most of my walks earlier in the day, before this place opens, so it was nice to see people actually sat there enjoying themselves.
Paphos Beach!
This tiny bit of sand is your goto beach if you are staying at Paphinia Apartments. There are many other beaches available in Paphos that are a bit more substantial though. For more information you should check out our Paphos South Coast Beaches Guide - 15 Of The Best on Youtube.

Paphos Kataklysmos Celebrations
Kataklysmos is a big deal in Cyprus. The whole island celebrates with water festivals, traditional events and numerous other activities. Traditionally the biggest celebrations occur in Larnaca, though every town and city does their bit. Paphos is having its own celebrations, and the Sea Front is teaming with stalls selling allsorts. Over the next few days there are also performances to be enjoyed at Paphos Castle. We went down to the Sea Front to join in the fun.

Summer is beginning to show signs of arriving in Paphos, though Mother Nature still has an opinion on that. It was a bit breezy this week on the coast, so we went out to photograph the waves. To be honest, we missed the best of them, so instead concentrated on the people and places of the Sea Front instead.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
