Beyond Fabrica Hill
A Morris Dancer's Paradise
So what are the handkerchiefs for? Well, according to the internet:
On the rock above the church, there is a large, centuries old, terebinth tree. Hanging a personal offer, usually a handkerchief, is believed to cure the ailments of those who hang it, and many people, both locals and visitors, do so even today.
More Caves
So now you know.
Anyway, continuing from the catacombs, we spotted another couple of caves, but they were fairly nondescript. After that, we found ourselves at the entrance to the exhibition we featured in our first look at Fabrica Hill.
At this point, the road has been closed, to allow for the completion of the construction of the walkway. They are also laying a new road surface, which will look very nice.
Mysterious Map
We managed to snap this picture of the plans for the new road surface. I expect it means something to somebody.
Another Work in Progress
As you can see, it will look very nice when complete.
The Walkway Progresses
Moving up to the roundabout, we see where the walkway crosses the road, and passes the rather bizarre looking Roman Hotel. Has anybody ever stayed there? If so, please comment and tell us what it was like on the inside.
