Troodos Winter Wonderland 2024
Clouding Over

As I made my way back down the slope I couldn't help but notice the dark looming clouds headed in my direction. There was definitely more snow or rain on the way.

No Go

There was quite a queue forming at the draglift by the time I got back down. There was even somebody walking around with a high viz jacket, so something was obviously being done.
View From Above

When I got back to the car I launched drone and took it for a spin. It became clear that they had finally got the draglift going. Look at that skyline though.
Driving To Troodos Square

In previous years I have focused on the ski slopes in my Winter Wonderland articles (see links below for them). So this year I wanted to include other locations as well. With that in mind I headed for Troodos Square, but stopped on the way to photograph a nice scene. While I was there, I couldn't help but notice this abandoned car. This highlights how important it is not to ignore travel advice when driving to the Troodos. You may be able to get here, but if it starts snowing while you are visiting you may find yourself stuck.
Secret Snowman

A particularly seasonal scene greeted me as I left the car. You cannot tell from this shot, but the small tree in the front of the picture, completely covered in snow, was actually a snowman, complete with buttons.
