Kings Avenue Mall Goes Back In Time!
There is a new exhibit at Kings Avenue Mall. Several in fact. Ancient creatures and dwellings have appeared, showcasing the distant past of Cyprus. Let's take a look...
Woolly Mammoth

I was first made aware of the exhibition by our daughter, who told me that she had seen some animatronics down at The Mall. I had already seen the mammoth when I drove past, but was unaware of any others.
Information

The mammoth had a sign next to it, but it was all in Greek. Fortunately, you can run images through Google Translate and they will do a good job of telling you what the words are...
In English

See, they even give you the image with the words corrected. The different font sizes used are to accommodate the different amount of space the translation takes up. Anyway, let's go inside.
Hairy Rhinoceros

Immediately inside the main doors you will come across these furry creatures. They aren't moving, so I was a bit puzzled why my daughter had called them animatronics. There was also a big sign.
Information

What is the Ice Age?
It is a period of long-term cooling, resulting in the presence or expansion of continental and polar ice caps.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
