We are coming to the end of the Sea Front now, but there is room for one last page of pictures. The Sea Front has gone through a lot this year, with all the renovations and repairs. But it has emerged as a thing of beauty and a delight to all the people who walk along it, tourist and locals alike.

The Riceman Cometh

You can tell I was early because the Stall Holders had only just started arriving. I still don't know why anybody would want their name engraved on a grain of rice. Thinking about it, he must have his work cut out. Some Greek names go on forever. Imagine trying to fit "Constantine Christodoulopoulos" onto a single grain?

And if you are wondering why Greek names can be so long, it is because the surname carries more information the those you find in the UK. A quick google reveals the following:

Greek surnames are often longer than last names in countries like England, Ireland, or the United States because they're made up of multiple words. Greek last names often get their meaning by combining two or more words to explain a relationship to an ancestor.

Floral Tributes

This reminds me. I should check out the Park of Colours again soon, to see how the flowers there are going. I guess the real test will come in Springtime, when the new blooms arrive.

Towards The Buses

I'm still not entirely sure what the latest is on the status of the various Bus Stations that have appeared around Paphos, but the old one here is now a car park. Buses now embark from the area behind.

A Final View

I shall leave you with a shot of the Harbour. Pay attention to the small harbour wall here. Would you object if it spanned the entire length of the Sea Front? It would certainly protect the shops and restaurants from the winter storms. Perhaps that is planned for the Off Season? I know at the start of the year one of the Restaurant workers told me that they thought there was going to be a shaded walk area created along the Sea Front. If that was the case I think they ran out of time before the main Tourist Season arrived. Who knows, perhaps in a few months time, the fencing might return and the much requested shade might be installed? Time will tell. One thing we do know, as these photos clearly demonstrate, is that the Sea Front is in very capable hands.
