Paphos Coast During Lockdown

The Main Drag
We've reached Paphos Sea Front now. The municipal bathing area is at one end and the castle is at the other. If you like snorkeling, this is a great place to have a swim. We saw turtles on numerous occasions here last summer.

Regular fans of our site will recognise this view. I am standing just to the side of our Kato Paphos webcam. You get some cracking sunsets from this location.
Towards The Castle
As you can see, the harbour is far from crowded. But if you are here and do feel uncomfortable, just do as I said, and drive up the road a bit.
Paphos Castle
I'm guessing the castle is closed at the moment. I know the Archaeological Park is, though it is opening again soon. I can't believe it has been a year since I did my virtual tour there. I spent weeks mapping that out, and had great fun in the process. I think I am pining for it, to be honest.
Resting Lady
I love the statue by the castle. It does look a bit like a lady who has had a bit too much to drink and is taking a breather though...

Sodap Beach Update
There was recently a bit of a kerfuffle in the press about the new cafe that is being built at the SODAP beach in Paphos. We couldn't help notice that the pictures used all showed the beach from one angle. So we took a New Year's Eve trip down to the coast, to get a clearer picture. Now you can judge for yourself just how much of an encroachment this cafe will be.Related Pages

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
