Paphos Coast During Lockdown
Calm Seas
Had I taken these shots on another day the water here would be a lot choppier. We have had a very mild winter, with little rain. But the last few days have produced quite stormy seas.
St Nicholas Church
Everybody loves this church. It was open, but I didn't go in. My attitude during lockdown is that I will take pictures if they are part of getting some exercise. Going into a church may well be important to a regular church goer, so it hardly seems fair for me to take up space there when we are supposed to be distancing. For the same reason, you won't see us post pictures of us standing in an overcrowded location complaining about it. If we see an overcrowded location, we just avoid it altogether. Otherwise, you are just adding to the problem.
Cue The Handy Virtual Tour
Anyway, you don't need to go into the church to see inside. This is the virtual tour we made of it last year. Don't forget to check out the ceiling!
Back On The Trail
Anyway, it is worth remembering that if you drive down to the harbour and it looks crowded, just head up this way a bit, and park in one of the municipal carparks. As you can see, there are no crowds here at all.
This particular shot shows the hotels past the church. You can see how they have fenced off their land for the duration. You can still walk down the path and on the beaches though.

There was recently a bit of a kerfuffle in the press about the new cafe that is being built at the SODAP beach in Paphos.
