Paphos Blossom
Poppy Power

There were a few poppies around too. If you are lucky when you are driving through the Cyprus countryside in Spring, you may come across a field full of poppies. Don't bank on them being there every year, so if you do see them, make a point to appreciate them while you can. They are most likely to be there because a particular field is fallow.

Time To Move On...

Had I a deckchair to hand I could have happily plonked it in the middle of the meadow and sat there all day, listening to my buzzing friends. Instead though, we got back to the car, drove through Minthis Hills, and headed for Kallepeia.
The Road To Kallepeia

Rather than drive through the centre, we took the turning just before the village. We wanted to get to the church at the far end of the village, on the way to the Ezousa Valley. I figured that this road would be likely to have some blossom on it, and I wasn't wrong.
Towards Minthis Hills

The view towards Minthis Hills from here wasn't too shabby either.
Almonds Everywhere

Just about every tree on the road to the church was Almond!

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
