Absent Friends

In previous Old Town Blogs (see links below) we have showed these walls adorned with a fabulous mural by the Italian artist Milo. Unfortunately, the owner of the building wanted to renovate it, and that included plastering over the artwork. There are many lessons to be learned from this, but the main one for most of us is to not take these murals for granted. Go out and appreciate them while you can. They won't be around forever, and besides, the more people who stop to admire them the more incentive there will be to have more walls decorated.

More Indoor Market

We turned right in the square by Hermanos and headed towards the Green Living Wall. We didn't get far though before we saw another entrance to the Indoor Market.

In Days Gone By

Here you can see what it used to be like inside.

Early Doors

I took this shot on a day when the markets were closed, so you can more easily see how it was constructed. I wonder what they did with the roof?

New Floors

They aren't messing about with the renovations. That floor will be really nice when finished. Note also that the supports that held the roof up are still intact, so they obviously plan on putting it back, or adding a replacement. This is important as the roof helps keep the place cooler during the hot summer months.
