Old Paramali - Aphrodite meets Call of Duty
Panagia Zodochou Pigis

Once you have tired of Aphrodite's Birthplace, drive past Pissouri and head for Paramali. You are looking for a left turn that takes you under the motorway. It is more of a track than a road. If you don't know where it is, keep going until you drive past a mosque. This means you have gone too far, so turn round and look for a right turn that takes you under the motorway.
You will soon be in a lush valley, with a church on the right. Let's take a look here first.

External

It's a nice looking church. Well maintained. Officially this church is actually on UK Sovereign Soil. Old Paramali isn't though.
Water Feature

I liked this water feature. The mosaics were very ornate.
Inside

Inside the church looked decidedly modern. Now I should stress this is not a criticism at all. The last two churches I have visited had ancient murals on the walls, and very little creature comforts. This one even has a fan!
Silver Images

The pictures that adorned the walls had a heavy silver influence. I haven't seen this style in many churches yet. However, I am by no means an expert.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
