Cyprus In Pictures - May 2025
We post daily "Kalimera" and "Kalispera" pictures to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how May has been in our corner of Cyprus.
Cali Resort And Spa

May brought the sunshine to our little corner of Paphos, so we were out and about photographing the scenery. The first shot shows the Cali Resort and Spa in Coral Bay. This used to be Crown Resorts Horizon, but it was renovated a while ago and reborn to this fabulous establishment.
Money Shot

It wasn't all blue skies though. There was a fair amount of cloud and even a little bit of rain. Nothing to dent the reservoir water levels though.
Yeronisos Island

Here's a nice shot of Yeronisos Island, just off the coast of Agios Georgios Harbour. It's a great landmark if you are out exploring the Akamas.
St George Hotel

The renovations at St George's Hotel were concluded and it is now looking fab. Work has now began on the nearby beach. We will of course keep you updated on its progress.
Sad News

May was also tinged with sadness for us. We lost one of our beloved cats, Mark. He died in early May. I found his body in a nearby farm field. The vet thinks he had been knocked by a car and had stumbled into the field to die. At least he died looking up at the stars, near his home and his family who loved him. We were able to bury him in our back garden alongside Bean the Rabbit and Peepers the Chicken. So long, Mark.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
