Abandoned Villages - Makounta
Old Olive Tree
This old tree was magnificent. The main trunk was now disintegrated, yet branches have shot up to replace it.
Hollow Trunk
See what I mean?
Rustic
The church itself was well kept, and through a window we could see a bowl of fruit and some biscuits, so it must be fairly active.
Agios Merkourios Picnic Area
This was another nice find. It is quite muddy here, but worth going for a wander. The stream was full of frogs.
The Inhabitant of the Lake
This not-very menacing frog was very patient, and coped well with our daughters attempts at ensuring amphibious fair play. Apparently, some of them got in a fight and she had to separate them.

Foinikas Revisited

Chrysochou lies nestled between Goudi and Polis, on the North West Coast of Cyprus.
