To get to the mine, we need to head towards Polis and take this left turn, almost immediately.

Please note, if you choose to follow in our footsteps, that the road goes past people's property. If you are here with a dog, keep it on a lead. I mention this because after we posted a previous article on the area somebody mentioned that they went there with their dog and it went into one of the buildings. From what I remember, an owner appeared, and was not too happy. So, dogs on lead.

I should stress though, that a couple of years ago this area looked a lot more dilapidated.

I had my drone with me, and we took some nice film. I really should get round to publishing it. Anyway, the mine is to the left of this shot, and Pelathousa is on the right. Indeed, we did this trip a couple of days before their fateful fire.

As we have already said, Limni Mine has been closed for some time. They have filled in a lot of the old quarry face, but if you want to visit it, you would have to walk up the left turning here. It isn't a nice walk in the middle of summer though, so we stuck to the right.
