Happy Mothers Day!
Anemone

Then it hit me. I had had a dream with Mum. I had seen Mum again! She died unexpectedly, so we never got to say goodbye. It occurred to me that I had just missed an opportunity to say goodbye, in the dream.

Coincidently, the day after the dream was the day I set off to take my first pictures, which you saw at the start of the blog.
It dawned on me (as I was approaching Simou, if you are a stickler for detail) that it was actually a good thing that I didn't say goodbye. I mean, why should I? Mum wasn't going anywhere.

No matter how old I get, if my subconsious decides I need to have a chat with Mum, she will always be able to pop into my head for a natter. The presence of Grandad in the dream proves that, though I have no idea why he was sulking. He never did in real life, to my knowledge.
But if Grandad still appears in my dreams, when he's been dead for over two decades, then I know that Mum won't be leaving me completely either.
Iris

I will of course, miss her terribly over the coming weeks, months and years, as will the rest of my family. But it will be of some comfort knowing that she is still there in my head.
Polemi Tulip!

So, Happy Mothers Day, to all you wonderful mothers out there.
And thank you to my dear Mum, for all the good times, memories, and unconditional love.

Cyprus Orchids
If you only visit in the heat of summer, you could be forgiven for thinking that a lot of Cyprus is like a desert; brown and arid. However, the truth is somewhat different. During Spring, most of Cyprus is green, as recent blogs will have shown. Not only that, but spring flowers come out to bloom, painting the hills and valleys with a sea of colour. If you are lucky, or you know where to look, you will also come across fields of orchids...
Spring is in The Air!
Yesterday we took a walk out across the Akamas, above Avakas Gorge (which deserves a blog article of its own). Spring was definitely in the air, and the flowers were blooming. We took a few shots to share.Good Pages To Visit

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
