A More Familiar Sight
On the way back, there is more to see. This is more like what I would expect to find. This building wouldn't look out of place in Foinikas or Souskiou.
Farm Buildings
A lot of the ruined buildings have been occupied by sheep and goats at one point, judging by the smell.
Under Repair?
I'm not sure whether this is in the process of being renovated, or whether it is just being used as a store room.
That Car Again...
We are now on the left-hand fork of the road. Let's see where that leads. I would love to know the story of this car.
Dilapidated Ruins
This quarter of Faleia has not fared very well. There are still powerlines, but do they go to the ruins, or just their inhabited neighbours?

Statos is unusual, as abandoned villages go. People deserted it not because of inter-communal fighting, but because of the threat of landslides. And then, no sooner had they emptied, some of the abandoned buildings were repopulated. If you are driving to Troodos on the Kouklia - Dora road, you will pass through Mousere just after Archimandrita. It isn't a very big place, but it is worth a look around, as there are some nice views coupled with some interesting ruins. Plus, the locals are very welcoming...Good Pages To Visit
