This is the church in Marathounta near where we photographed the flowers.

Now, originally, we were going to leave the flower blog here, but on subsequent trips out, the weather wasn't ideal for photography. It wasn't raining, but there was a haze in the air that made most landscape shots look a bit washed out.

So we decided to focus on flower photos. The next set come from near Pano Akourdaleia.

If you only visit in the heat of summer, you could be forgiven for thinking that a lot of Cyprus is like a desert; brown and arid. However, the truth is somewhat different. During Spring, most of Cyprus is green, as recent blogs will have shown. Not only that, but spring flowers come out to bloom, painting the hills and valleys with a sea of colour. If you are lucky, or you know where to look, you will also come across fields of orchids...

Kannaviou Countryside

You could be forgiven for thinking that the Ezousa Valley runs from the sea to Episkopi Village. But it continues through Letymbou all the way up to Kannaviou. And guess what? It's just as lovely up there.
