Kings Avenue Mall Christmas Decorations
Tree View

This is a closeup of the tree from the base.
Nut Crackers

On the other side of the tree were more festive features, including some Nutcracker soldiers I always find vaguely sinister. In fact, they originated in 17th century Germany and were symbols of good luck, frightening away malevolent spirits..
Christmas Arches

There is a nice little series of archways here too, next to some Poinsettias.
The Instagram Generation

Another striking bauble also makes a popular return. This one comes complete with seat for the young and young at heart to pose in.
Going Up

We've covered the ground floor, so now it's time to take the escalator up. Actually, that is a lie. When I did a tour of the Mall, the first thing I did was film it. Once finished, I retraced my steps taking pictures. I took this one from the escalator going down. I only mention this, because on the day of my visit, the Up escalator was broken. And people often pick up on minor details such as this. I don't know why either.
