The church itself has seen better days. However, it is still in use. At the altar there are fairly recently placed icons of Christ, and the remains of candles and a few old coins.

Who Prays Here?

So who prays here now? It must be a bit of a pilgrimage to get here. But people have been coming here for quite some time.

50 Year Old Graffiti

This graffiti was written over 50 years ago. This probably indicates that the church was in disrepair as least as long ago as that.

A Peaceful Scene

So why was this church built? And how was it built? It must have been a huge effort getting all the stones here, or were they fashioned from the surrounding slopes? Whoever built it, they certainly picked a stunning location.

This is well worth a visit. There isn't that much to see when you get there, but the views and countryside are simply stunning. Once you get there, just enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.
