Akamas Road Update
Get Your Bearings

If you are unsure where White River Beach is, you can use Yeronissos Island as a guide. It is just along the coast from there, and therefore just along the coast from Agios Georgios.

Cairn Country

As the drone gets closer to the beach, you can see that it is covered in loads of stone piles, or cairns.

Now some people will moan about people building these cairns. Apparently it damages the local environment. Personally though, I am rather fond of them. Given that the winter storms will inevitably wipe the slate clean every year, do they really do that much harm?
Source?

So who builds all the cairns? Is there a local yoga group that use them as meditation aids? I have no idea.
On With The Road

Anyway, that's enough of the beach. Let's follow the road some more to see what they have been up to.
