April: Tulips!

We live in Polemi, so were looking forward to The Polemi Tulip Festival, and we weren't disappointed. It was a great example of traditional Cypriot Life.

Easter Celebrations

And speaking of Cyprus Traditions, we weren't prepared for the level of celebrations associated with Easter in Cyprus. It is more of an event than Christmas here.
Paphos Gateways

We also revisited the 10 Gateways to Paphos in April. We first reported on these in January when they were still being built. We went back in April to see what they looked like when complete, and at night. We think they are great, and a welcome site when we are returning from our adventures.
May: Springtime Archaeological Park

Of course, it isn't just the valleys and hills that bloom in Springtime. We were also treated to a very colourful display when we visited the Paphos Archaeological Park.
The Mysterious Cave of Akoursos

One of the great things about running a site like this, is that I can ask forum members for help and will invariably get a good reply. So when I asked for any information on the funny cave above Akoursos, I was soon pointed in the direction of a youtube video featuring a man who actually climbed up to it. Thanks to his efforts, and with his permission, I was able to produce The Legend Of Akoursos.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
