Beauty and the Beast

The clouds are lovely in this photo. Unfortunately, people have been dumping loads of rubbish in the field here. So much so, that the land owners / local authorities, have tried to block the area off with rubble.

Disgusting

That hasn't detered the dumpers though. They just throw the rubbish on this side of the rubble.

Not Just Builders

You can't blame all this on builders.

This is NOT a Green Point!

It is on both sides of the road too.

Household Rubbish

This is household rubbish. This particular pile came from a home with young children, so you can't blame the older generation for it either. But why on Earth is it dumped here? It makes no sense at all. The binmen would have collected all this. It isn't old tyres, or chemical waste, just household junk. I could sort of understand the sofas (and two old tyres I saw) because the binmen wouldn't take them. But this stuff just had to be left in some bloody bins!!!

If by chance, the people who dump rubbish here happen to read this article, please stop doing this. Use your bins, or if you have rubbish the binmen wont take, take it to the Koloni Green Point. As it stands, this is the legacy you are leaving your children. Do you think they will appreciate it in years to come?

The Garden of Memories

Back in June we were approached by Geoff Eccleston. He wanted help creating the online presence of a charitable drive he was organising for the St Michael's Hospice. The aim was to build a peaceful oasis for their residents and visitors to relax in. The appeal is now well under way, and construction of the Garden began some time ago. They are still short of their financial target though, and need money for ongoing maintenance and a wheelchair ramp. With that in mind we thought we would do a blog showing you how far the project has already come. It would be great if you could dig your hands into your pockets and help them hit their total, but even if you can't, have a look at the blog and see what is possible if a group of people put their minds to it...

Clean Up Paphos!

Rubbish has long been an issue in the region of Paphos. While fly-tipping no longer occurs on every hillside corner, it is still a big problem. In the last few years however, a number of Green Points have been set up throughout Paphos. The only trouble is, very few people seem to know about them. So we decided to track them all down, and show you what to expect when you visit. If you want the rubbish situation in Paphos to improve, it is in your own interests to use these places. We appreciate that a tour of recycling points won't make scintilating viewing, so we took the scenic route to bring you some pictures of the countryside too...
