What surprised me about this building was how narrow it was.

Feature Overload

Further down the lane, I came upon one of Choulou's many water taps, and an old Olive Press. The date on the water feature in 1955. A lot of water features like this were added in 1952, and some people think they were all put up to mark the Coronation. However, it looks more like a coincidence, because I have seen dates ranging from the late 40s to the early 60s. The later one's no longer show ER either. Instead they have the emblem of the Republic of Cyprus.

Choulou Bloom

Even though the weather was overcast, the blossom and spring flowers still look lovely. I continued up the lane until it split in two. At that point I turned right as the other lane led out of the village. To my right I could see, rather surprisingly, a football pitch.

Choulou UTD?

I wonder who plays here then? The pitch is actually in quite good nick compared to some of the ones I have seen. Do the farmers have a kickabout on Sunday afternoons? I don't think Choulou has a school any more. I think the pupils have to commute to the school in Polemi.
