More Olive Paraphernalia

After I had passed the football pitch I came upon some more Olive presses. These looked like they had just been abandoned though, rather than turned into a feature.

The Main Road

This is the main road through the upper part of Choulou. Ahead of me you can see the tavern. In part 2 of this article we shall go left past the tavern, but for now let's turn around and continue up the road.

Rigena's House

This route is actually part of our first Road Trip eBook. I remember photographing Rigena's door then. I managed to find a bit of information on this place. I am reproducing it below, but do bear in mind it was written in 2014, so contact details may well have changed.

The stone-built House of Rigena (To Spiti tis Rigenas), is found in the picturesque village of Houlou. The House is a perfect example of traditional popular architecture dating back more than 140 years, recently renovated to join the Agrotourism scheme. Upon entering the House you come across the large stone-paved courtyard blooming with flowers, an old spring and the traditional Cypriot arch. The House has three bedrooms and is suitable for a family or a group of friends. It is an ideal base for those who want to explore the many natural beauties of the area.

This water feature looks well maintained.
