Polemi Tulip Festival 2023
Delicious
Now, I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with loukoumades. In theory, they are delicious. However, often they are flavoured with rose-water. I am not a fan of the taste of rose-water, and have had to through away loukoumades in the past because of it. However, these ones were really, really delicious. And free!
Equal Opportunities
After the man finished talking, an important woman made a speech.
The Band Played On
Finally, the entertainment itself started. I didn't stay to watch it, as I had more photographs to take. However, if you are visiting Cyprus, and have the opportunity to visit a Village Festival, you should go to at least one. They are very happy, joyous affairs.
Polemi Fringe
I now wanted to photograph the tulips themselves. Actually, to be honest, I was more interested in photographing the people watching the tulips. I know the tulips are lovely, but we've lived in Polemi over six years now, so I am used to them. Anyway, to get to the field, I had to walk back to the Square. There are a lot of stalls outside the Metochi, in what I shall rather misleadingly call the Fringe. Let's have a look at some of them on our way through.
Traditional Living
