Kitten Capers
Meanwhile, Last Week
This was how we found the kitties. All huddled around the roots of a tree.
Poor Kitties
We returned the day after we had found them and they were in a much worse state. Patch couldn't even open his eye, and Tabby is looking very down-hearted.
To The Vets
That was on a sunday. First thing monday morning we phoned up D&N Vets and asked them if they could check them over.
Where's Patch?
The vets were brilliant. They gave the kittens the once over, de-wormed and de-fleaed them. They wouldn't accept any payment either. We bought some kitten food and formula there, so we could feed them while we worked out what to do.
Kitten Den
The problem we had, you see, is that Alex is allergic to animal fur. So we couldn't keep the kittens ourselves. Not in the long term. However, we wanted to make their stay with us as pleasurable as possible. So I made them a play den in the barbecue area. They would spend the days here, and come into the porch for their feeds. At night they would sleep in the travel cage you saw in the previous photo, sheltered in the porch.
