Kathikas
Tavern Araouzos

Tavern Araouzos may well be the longest-established Eatery in Kathikas.

Eating Area

There is a rather nice seating area on the opposite side of the road, should the main restaurant be full. I guess this is also the smoking area. This area has come on a lot in the last couple of years. If you look on Google Streetview you can see what it looked like two years ago, and this is a marked improvement!
Over the years we've been mapping Cyprus, and especially the Paphos district, on Google Streetview. It is nice when we can actually use the results of our labours ourselves!
Beautiful Kathikas

You can see in this shot why the village is so popular with tourists.
Yiannis Tavern

This is the next tavern on our journey. Note that there is a sign pointing to parking in the rear. This leads to the communal parking area we showed you on the map earlier. So if you want to park head down here. Alternatively wait until you get to the visitor centre and follow the parking signs there. It brings you to a different part of the same place.
Rear Seating

As well as the parking area, you will also find a covered seating area for the Yiannis Tavern.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
