I am guessing that some of the local youth might be using the location as a place to chill. Somebody had put a sofa and coffee table in the centre and with appropriate lighting it must be quite cosy.
Towards The Pins
I had been hoping to see some of the old pin mechanisms, but they had been completely removed. All that remained at the pin end of the alley was a collection of historical rubbish, along with more bowling balls and pins.
Historical Rubbish
Here's a blast from the past that dates the place. A US Robotics 56K modem. Well, the box of one anyway. That brings back memories. If you want to get really teary-eyed, check out this sound. Man, that clip has had over 2,000,000 views!
Interesting Sign
That sign over on the other wall looked interesting though.
1st Cockatoos Paphos Open
So, they were open in 2005, and had a bowling competition. I guess they stored the sign here at the back after that, and it has remained in the same place ever since.

There used to be a bowling alley in Kato Paphos, on Bar Street no less. Whether it was usurped by Cosmic Bowling up near the Mall, I don't know. But for whatever reason, Cockatoo Bowling Club closed its doors several years ago. Recently however, I managed to find a way in, so I thought I would show you what it is like inside.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
