The last time we went by the plant, we arrived at the front gate and assumed it was all shut down.

Reading The Meter

We checked the meter, and was surprised to see that somebody had taken a reading a couple of months ago. What's more, a fair amount of electricity had been used since. But what for?

This might provide an explanation. Where does it go?

Electric Fence?

Rather bizarrely, the powerline reachead a 4-gang, and another line branched off it to one of the fences.

Kouklia Memorial

We recently blogged about a little shrine by the motorway. It turns out that it was placed there in memory of two soldiers who lost their lives in a helicopter accident. I was confused myself, because I knew there was a helicopter crash memorial, but it was a little further away from Paphos, near Kouklia. An internet search revealed that there had been two crashes. So in the interest of fairness, I thought we should take a look at the other shrine. It isn't visible from the motorway, but if you take the trouble to find it, you will not be disappointed, as it is a lovely memorial...

The Ancient Sugar Factory At Kouklia

As you drive along the A6 from Paphos to Limassol, you will pass the Asprokemmos Dam on your left. Just after that you will see some old ruins. This is the site of an ancient sugar factory.
