Aphrodite's Rock
Let's Go To The Rock

Don't worry though. I won't recite it here. Let's head that way.

The drone takes a mean picture. Incidentally, it is now fully licensed. I had to do an online exam and pay €30 but Paphos Life are now fully licensed drone operators. Toot toot.
Around We Go

Have you ever wondered what the southern side facing the sea actually looks like? You are about to find out.
Aphrodite's View Point

First though, we have to drive around to the other side of the rock. From my first location, the drone was directly between me, the rock, and the sun, so I couldn't see it. Being a responsible drone owner who has passed his exam, I know how important it is to be able to see the drone at all times. So we came around to this side. Plus, the light was better for stills from here.
If you look at the rocks on your left you can see a bit of ongoing erosion. If similar is happening just up the coast you can understand why they would have to close the road.
Arty Squares

From this viewpoint you get a beautiful view of the rock. There are also some nice frames. From this angle they don't make much sense. A useful place to hang your legitimate-drone-user's-halo from, but other than that...

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
